I must first take the time to truly thank you for visiting my blog! You are AMAZING, girl! Over here taking the precious time out of your day to come see what I’m talking about! Stick around, I promise it won’t be a waste.
This is going to be a journey that we walk through together and I am SUPER excited! I've been working on this project for quite a while and I've finally mustered up the nerve to start my own blog. Some of you may know that I began writing on "Medium". I may have written about four posts on there and then I decided, "hey... maybe I'll create one central place for women to access all my blog posts only." I mean, not trying to be funny or anything but I just wanted to create a space for women to grow spiritually, unite in love and just be real with another.
I guess I’ll share a little bit about myself so you can have an idea of who the author is behind all these posts. For starters, GOD is the author! He is the one who places these ideas on my heart and then I just begin writing. It’s funny because it doesn’t truly become crystal clear what it is He wants me to write about…until I literally begin writing. I think it’s because if I had the vision given to me all at once, I’d probably become too intimidated by it and wouldn’t pursue it at all. God knows what He’s doing!
Now, lil’ ole me. My name is Evette Thomas. I just got married to the love of my life on April 3rd 2020 and I could go on forever about how the Lord has blessed me with THE PERFECT husband. I know, I know, no one is perfect. But GIRL! I’ll just keep it short and say my husband is the TRUTH! I will share more details about my marriage in later posts so stay tuned!
I have always loved writing. When I was a kid, I would be in my room, conjuring up some story that I would be completely immersed in to escape my reality. I enjoyed writing romance stories. I have always been infatuated with love and all it’s intricacies. I love words and how they dance when used in a rhythmic flow. I just love all-things-writing and aspire to become a better writer. There’s ALWAYS room for improvement no matter your career, niche, or way of life you can always improve. There is no ceiling to growth.
My major has changed about three times now (pray for me) but I think I have finally figured out what I truly want to study. I found that the going trend in every major I have pursued speaks to my NEED to help others. I feel like once I’m old and gray and I’m sitting there, reflecting on my life with Jamil (my husband), if majority of it was spent helping people, I will feel quite at peace with how I spent my days. I’m currently studying American Sign Language and couldn’t be more excited to see what the Lord has in store for me in this new endeavor!
I have two kittens that come from the same litter named Bear and Noni. Bear is a name typically given to black cats because… I guess they resemble bear’s but my Bear was given his name because he models the characteristics of a bear. Noni was given her name because she is a black cat. Generally, they’re looked over because of superstitions or because people think they’re not as cute as different colored cats. Noni is not only the name of the main character in my favorite movie (Beyond The Lights), it also means gift of God. I wanted her name to be special because she is special to Jamil and I and her black is beautiful!
To conclude my welcome post, I just want to give you a bit more insight on the vision I have for this blog. I want this to be a place where we laugh, joke, maybe even cry sometimes but whatever emotions come out while you’re here, I want you to feel safe with your other sister’s in Christ. Ultimately, I want your faith to "bloom" while you’re here. Paul said, “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:2-3)”. This verse perfectly aligns with what the intention of Blooming Believer. I do not know everything, but I can get a conversation going so that we can all learn from one another.
